What is the purpose of the Sanofi Consumer Healthcare open innovation portal?

What happens after I submit?
When you submit your idea through Sanofi's Consumer Healthcare Open Innovation Portal, you will be asked to complete a "Submission Form" that includes your contact details, a non-confidential overview of your healthcare innovation or solution and your agreement to the Terms and Conditions of submission and the Privacy Notice. On behalf of Sanofi Consumer Healthcare, yet2 will review your details and evaluate the solution within the portal.

Who decides if my submission is of interest to Sanofi?
yet2 will review your innovation idea submission form in relation to criteria provided by Sanofi’s Consumer Healthcare Open Innovation team. yet2 will follow up directly with you through the Sanofi Consumer Healthcare Open Innovation portal to inform you of the status of your submission.
How long will it take for my submission to be reviewed? What are the stages?
The status of your submission to Sanofi's Consumer Healthcare open innovation portal will be communicated within four weeks of receipt.
- Step 1: You will receive a confirmation of receipt of your submission form via email with your personal submission identification number from yet2.
- Step 2: An initial review will be conducted by yet2, on behalf of Sanofi, within approximately five working days. Once the review is completed you will be informed of your submission status via email.
- Step 3: If yet2's initial review is positive, your submission will be further reviewed by the Sanofi Consumer Healthcare (CHC) Open Innovation team. You will be informed of the status within four weeks.
- Step 4: If the further review is positive, the Sanofi Consumer Healthcare Open Innovation team will contact you directly to discuss next steps for a potential collaboration. Additional information may be requested at this stage.
- Step 5: Once all information has been reviewed and there is mutual consent to move forward, you and the Sanofi Consumer Healthcare Open Innovation team will potentially initiate a collaboration.
What information does my submission need to include?
Contact information is essential to follow up. The submission form must also provide an overview of the proposed solution, with the understanding that your submission will be treated as non-confidential.
Can I submit confidential information?
You can only submit non-confidential information. Throughout the submission process, we ask for only information that imposes no obligations of confidentiality for Sanofi or yet2 and does not breach any confidentiality obligations that you as the submitter owe to others. If confidential information is later required, we may negotiate a separate Confidential Disclosure Agreement or NDA prior to sharing or receiving any confidential information.
Is there a reward for submitting my innovation?
No. There will be no reward for your initial submission of an idea through this portal. However, if Sanofi decides to pursue your submission, a mutually-agreed contract and appropriate commercial terms will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Do I have to accept the Submission Portal Terms & Conditions?
Yes, these are created to protect you and your rights, as well as eliminating the risk of jeopardizing Sanofi ongoing research programs, projects and developing concepts.
If I have more than one submission, will I have to agree to a waiver for each submission?
Yes, you will have to agree to the Terms and Conditions for each submission.
Do I have to have Intellectual Property protection? (Patents applied for or filed)
Ideally, your solution will be protected by granted or applied-for patents.
However, Sanofi is willing to discuss early stage ideas before a patent filing has been made or before it has been published. If you have not filed for patents yet, you should absolutely avoid disclosing any information that jeopardizes your rights to file patents. We advise you to contact an IP lawyer prior to submission.
Do I have to be at least 18 years old to submit an innovation?
Yes, this is the legally-accepted age for agreeing to terms and conditions for this activity.
I cannot log into the My Submissions page to view the status of my submission, upload additional documentation or respond to communication. What do I do?
Please ensure that you are only using the eight character alphanumeric reference number to login. Do not include the # preceding it. Please also ensure that you are entering O (capital "o") and 0 (zero) correctly. If that fails, please contact
sanofiportal@yet2.com.
Why have I been redirected from Sanofi.com to a separate portal to submit my innovation?
Sanofi wants to ensure that all submitter responses are reviewed in a timely manner.
Furthermore, ensuring only Non-Confidential information is received eliminates the risk of jeopardizing your rights as well as those of Sanofi. Sanofi may be developing similar concepts, so sharing only Non-Confidential information is important for protecting Sanofi's IP position as well as your own. yet2 acts as a gatekeeper
